“MADS CLUB”, Murray After Dark Social Club is an Out on the Town Evening with your Teachers and Friends. It is held the first Wednesday of every month at 9:30pm at a designated local Lounge location. Ask your Teachers how to join MADS Club and get ready to dance the night away. Last month we danced to a live band in the newly renovated Coral Reef Lounge called “Jpop” at Mandalay Bay. MAD’S Club this month will be WEDNESDAY, October 1st.

* PROFESSIONAL TRAINING SEMINAR: HYATT REGENCY, IRVINE, CALIFORNIA; 12 members of the Las Vegas Arthur Murray staff and management travel to Irvine, California, October 11th and 12th, to attend Arthur Murray Professional Seminars. Current Events and the most Recent Dance Styles were presented by nationally acclaimed Champion.
* STAFF CERTIFICATION: This is a semi-annual event in our Studios as our teachers continue their professional testing regimen.
ARTHUR MURRAY’S MONTHLY CHAMPAGNE “GUEST PARTIES” are a great way to introduce friends and family to the fabulous world of Ballroom Dancing! At the same time you can show off a few of you new moves by performing with your teacher in a spotlight dance. Guests will also enjoy general dancing, an exciting floor show, and a special guest lesson. When your guest enrolls on an introductory guest special, you will receive one free lesson. Check the calendar for specific Wednesday dates from 8:30-9:45pm at the Durango Studio.
* DANCING WITH THE LAS VEGAS STARS BRONZE I STUDENTS * SEASON 4 begins Friday, October 10th at the Durango Studio, 8:15pm! Students from both Studios have paired up with their teachers to become our four “Dancing With The Las Vegas Stars Couples”. These 4 Couples will be featured dancing together in a competition each Friday night for 8 weeks. Each week they will be dancing a different dance and we will be alternating Studio locations. Check the calendar for event location each week.
Season 4 couples and our fabulous panel of seasoned Adjudicators will be announced soon.

Anything can happen! Every Monday at the Durango Practice Party we will be announcing the DWTS RESULTS and eliminating one couple. Join Us!!!! Hall of Fame Winners: Season 1: Lesley and Trent, Season 2: Brandy & Justin, Season 3 Lori and Robert. Season 4 is all up to you……Who will it be??????????
* HALLOWEEN DANCING WITH THE STARS PARTY – Dress up and come vote for your favorite couple and favorite costume!
* “You Can’t Stop the Beat” 2008 STUDENT SHOWCASE WEEKEND* was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!!! Saturday, September 20th – Showcase routines were performed from 2-6, followed by a wonderfully Catered Dinner, Dancing, Awards Presentation, Souvenir Photograph, Professional Show and a Jack & Jill Dance Competition. We featured over 100 Student Dance Routines for this Showcase! All of our instructors choreographed special routines for each student to showcase their individual talents.
Our visiting adjudicator, Lynn Sevick, presented Student Awards for Top Categories. The Award recipients were: Top Pre-Teen Male; Chayton Marshall, Top Pre-Teen Female; Tyler Draher, Top Teen Female; Ariana Kunin, Top Newcomer Male; Jesus Meza, Top Newcomer Female; Rachel Stark, Top Associate Bronze Male; Jorge Gonzoles, Top Associate Bronze Female; Cynthia Kestler, 2nd Place Associate Bronze Female; Aly Draher, Top Full Bronze Male; Chad Peterson, 2nd Full Bronze Male; Tony Sedgewick, Top Full Bronze Female; Brandy Hartman, 2nd Place Full Bronze Female; Lexi Hamill, Top Silver Male; Bob Bransky, Top Silver Female; Denise Giancola, 2nd Place Silver Female; Lisa Evans, Top Newcomer Couple; Vayne & Barbara Ray, Top Associate Bronze Couple; Adam & Emily Sullivan, Top Full Bronze Couple; Marc & Carla Roberts, Top Silver Couple; Tim Homerding & Julie Petersen, Top Female; Carmen Peterson, Formation Award; “All That Jazz” (Girls Formation), Top Gold Bar Female; Louise Totten, Top Instructors which is based strictly off of the scores of their students. 1st Place; Justin McClendon, 2nd Place; Trent McAffee, 3rd Place; Adam Stuckey. The teachers are not being judged by their own ability, but on the progress of their students. Our Students performed a Dance Formation choreographed by Justin McClendon and Our Teachers presented a Dance Formation with costumes made by Diahman White, choreographed by Adam & Justin to wrap up the event.
Special thanks to our Showcase Videographer, Ryan Duff, and Lynn Sevick for Private Coaching, Critiques and being our Showcase Adjudicator! And especially to Tiffany, Justin and the staff for making an extra effort to provide an exciting theme to all of our Showcase and special parties! * On Sunday afternoon, students who entered the Showcase celebrated with Brunch while watching the Showcase Video. Brunch was followed by a Group Class conducted by Lynn Sevick. Individual Student Critiques were also held all day Sunday. Critiques provide the Students and their Teachers the opportunity to review their achievements and dance routines with Lynn.

GROUP CLASSES ADVANCED AND BEGINNING – WEST – M-F 6:45pm – Come and join Justin McClendon, our Dance Director at the Durango location. Monday through Friday he conducts an Advanced Bronze and Silver group class on one particular dance of the week. Class begins at 6:45pm. Check the Calendar for the weekly dances. This Month: Rumba, Viennese Waltz, Cha Cha, Tango, Hustle.
GROUP CLASSES ADVANCED AND BEGINNING – EAST – M-F 7:30pm – Come and join Adam Stuckey, our Dance Director at the Maryland Parkway location. Monday through Friday he conducts an Advanced Bronze and Silver group class on a different dance every day. Check the Calendar for specific classes. Every Month there is Social Salsa on Wednesdays. This Month: Merengue, Hustle, C&W 2 Step, Cha Cha, Bolero, Rumba, Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Swing, Samba, Polka, WCS, Bachata and Mambo.
BEGINNING BRONZE STUDENT GROUP CLASSES: Monday through Friday: These classes are structured for Newcomers to learn the basic Bronze Dance steps. They are held at the same time as the Group Class. 6:45pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at Durango, 7:30pm Monday-Thursday at Maryland Parkway.
SATURDAY TECHNIQUE CLASS: 12:15pm Durango Studio taught by Greg, 1:00pm Maryland Parkway Studio taught by Adam. Saturday, October 11th, No Sessions due to Fall Forum in California.
