Hosted every year by Arthur Murray International, the world's best-known dance school, SUPERAMA(R) puts 600-700 ballroom dancers through their paces, with over 10,000 entries providing an incredible array of talent and drama. Superama offers amateur and pro-amateur competitions, and the Open Professional Competitions in American and International Styles of Ballroom, Rhythm, and Latin, as well as Argentine Tango, Salsa, and Country Western, West Coast Swing, and Salsa. Other dance events fill four days of dance activities, parties, dinners, dances, and classes for professional instructors. This is an event not to be missed by the serious competitor, or interested hobbyist. It is is also the perfect event for someone considering their first competition to see what the hype is all about. With competition at every level from beginning to professional, open/closed freestyles, solo performances, all-around and scholarship divisions this competition has it all in a big way. No luck needed for a great time here, everyone's a winner at Super-Rama, in Las Vegas, at the Wynn!
This year, more than 600 students will travel from many cities and 18 countries across the globe, taking seven days out of their busy lives to participate in Superama. It's the individual stories of these students and their passion for dance that give the event so much energy and color. These women and men from all walks of life, in all different ages and stages of life, have made ballroom dance a part of their lives. Every person at the event has a story about what happened to them and how their lives were changed when they discovered the world of ballroom. There are as many real life "Shall We Dance?" stories as there are dancers!
